PEELSEAL PLASTIC MASKANT is a fast dry solvent pigmented stop-off lacquer or liquid maskant that can be applied over a clean surface by brushing, dipping, or spray to the surface to be masked. For certain process requirements additional coats may be applied after solvent flash off. Under normal ambient conditions parts can enter the plating cycle within 3-4 hours after application. PEELSEAL PLASTIC MASKANT with a viscosity of 10,000 –
12,000 cps can be applied to a very sharp line.
PEELSEAL PLASTIC MASKANT can be removed from nonporous surfaces by simple peeling. Use PEELSEAL STRIPPER/REDUCER to thin to spray viscosity if using spray application. Customer should start with a 50%/50% maskant to thinner ratio then make adjustments as needed. Cure may be accelerated by increasing ambient temperature. PEELSEAL PLASTIC MASKANT contains additives to enhance dimensional stability which require suspension during application. Use care in stirring to avoid introduction of air bubbles. PEELSEAL PLASTIC MASKANT has a white/beige color to readily enable determination of application location, detection of inadvertent application and completeness of removal. To maintain peelability, remove PEELSEAL PLASTIC MASKANT before any subsequent heat applications.
